Review: Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Waterproof Mascara!

As usual, I'm always looking for the best of the best waterproof mascaras. This time I wanted to review one from Bourjois, I had never tried their mascaras so it goes without saying, I was intrigued. This one is their Volume 1 Seconde mascara.

The packaging looks nice, I like the combination of silver and turquoise.

I bought mine at www.feelunique.com, it seems to be around 13€ at the moment.

The brush is pretty big! As you might remember, I'm not a fan of bigger brushes because they tend to be more messy to use than smaller brushes. This one is quite unique, it has some spikes and some ball shaped bristles mixed together. With the brush it's easy to add volume right at the base of my lashes. But like many other mascara wands, the tip collects too much product and if you don't wipe it off, it can make the application a bit messy. Also the edges of the mascara tube collects excess product and ends up drying, so you must remember to clean that too.

As you can see, it gives nice volume for my lashes. I wish it also would hold my lashes curled but in that area it seems to fail. Ok results though!

Looks pretty good! But unfortunately it doesn't hold my lashes curled for more than 15 minutes. Also I would like that the brush would give my lashes more definition. Instead you can end up with clumpy lashes pretty easily if you try to apply too much. Another thing that bothers me is that during the day there's a lot of fall out, it can look quite messy under the eyes and I don't think anyone likes that. The mascara hasn't dried up or anything, but I think it may be because there can be some dried mascara at the edges of the mascara tube.

But what I do like is that it makes my lashes look thicker and fuller. Also it's very easy to remove! Some waterproof mascaras can be a real pain to remove but not this one. If you are looking for some good volume, you may like this one. It's also affordable. Not available in Finland but you can find it online. I will not repurchase because I want my lashes to stay curled all day, but I like the volume it gives me, so I will happily use this up :)

Review: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer! :)

I've been looking for a new contouring color ever since I found out that my former favourite NYX Taupe started breaking my skin out and not performing that well anymore. I've had no luck so far. After hearing so many good things about the Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer from Too Faced I decided to try if it would be a good match for my fair skin.

I've always liked Too Faced and their products, especially their packaging. Milk Chocolate is no exception, the case is really pretty...! It's not over the top though.

The packaging is really pretty and nice! I like that it comes with a big mirror. The case feels quite heavy but it's not as luxury feeling as I would have expected. Still very pretty :)

Here's some swatches on my fair, neutral skin.

The pigmentation is good, it's not too pigmented so that it would be difficult to blend, it has just the right amount of it, it's very easy to blend and work with. I've been using my Real Techniques Face Expert Brush with this, it's lovely.

For my taste the color is just a bit too warm for me. Originally I got this for contouring and I prefer a more cooler and taupe toned color for that. But for bringing some warmth and a hint of bronzed effect on my skin, it works really nice! So if you are fair skinned and you are looking for a good bronzer, this could be the one for you.

Milk Chocolate Soleil has a pretty strong chocolate or cocoa scent. To be honest, I would prefer it to be unscented but it doesn't bother me to the point where I would stop using it. Some may like it and most people do, it's just not my cup of tea.

I paid around 20€ for my Milk Chocolate Soleil at www.beautybay.com, usually the price is around 30€. I will continue to use this until I find a better color match for my skin. Something cooler and more taupe toned is what I'm looking for. Please leave a comment if you know a product like that, it would make me really happy..! :)

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & Powder Brush!

After getting the Setting Brush from Real Techniques and falling deeply in love with it, I knew I had to get more of their face brushes. I waited for them to go on sale and ordered two more for myself. I think I need to get a few eye brushes too at some point, but I use face brushes more and that's why they were on my list first. I got the Expert Face Brush and the Powder Brush, both well reviewed among bloggers and vloggers.

I'm sure most of you have heard about these brushes. They are affordable, high quality brushes made with synthetic hair.

All I can say that they do live up to the hype around them. Yes, they are very soft. Especially the Face Expert Brush feels lovely against my skin. I must say that the Powder Brush could be even softer, I was expecting super softness because of all the praising reviews. But still, very soft!

I know many people use the Face Expert Brush for applying and buffing liquid foundation but I've been using it as a bronzer and blush brush. I want to try how it performs as a foundation buffing brush, I'm expecting it to be great at that because the bristles are very tense and it's just the perfect size for that. But for blending blush and bronzer, it's amazing..!

The Powder Brush is the perfect brush  for powder. It's quite large in size but for me it works. I use it to set my foundation with a compact powder and it picks up just the right amount of product, not too much. It's also great for blending out harsh blush or bronzer lines. I've seen some people using this for bronzer too, but for my taste it's too big for that.

What makes me like these even more is that they are very easy to clean. I have washed them a couple of times now and so far I haven't seen a single loose hair, no shedding at all. I'm very pleased!

You can get these at many places, they are also available in Finland at least at www.pretty.fi. I got mine at www.lookfantastic.com. I paid around 10€ each for these but they were on sale. At full price they are still very affordable and I can easily recommend these brushes. They have replaced my other face brushes completely :)
