Review: Maybelline Browdrama Brow Sculpting Mascara in Dark Brown!

Finally a review! I have been shopping makeup very little lately, which is why there haven't been any new reviews in this blog lately. But now I finally have a review for you, I recently got this (new?) BrowDrama Brow Sculpting Mascara from Maybelline. I got the darkest shade called Dark Brown. I usually use black on my brows, since they are black or greyish but this one seemed to have a nice ashy tone, it didn't seem to have any reddish brown tones so I gave it a try! Here's my quick review with an exessive amount of pictures of my brows.

The other thing I was sceptical about besides the color, was the brush. It's the round ball type brush that doesn't usually work as a mascara brush so I had my doubts about it. Hmm. The only way to use it is with the ball end, so I don't know why they have extended the brush towards the bottom. Weird.

The top of the brush collects excess product so you have to be careful not to apply too much at once. I you remember this, you can make it work!

Here's swatches of the Dark Brown color. As you can see, the brush dispenses the product a little unevenly. The product itself is not crazy pigmented so you can build up the color to the level you want it to be.

Here's my brows in their natural state. I've been trying to grow them to look a little bit fuller!

Here's the results, I think the color looks quite natural on my brows! I really like it, even though I had my doubts about it. It doesn't look too brown, it just looks darker. Lovely! The Browdrama gives my brows some depth and holds them in place nicely. The consistency is very nice.

Overall I like the Browdrama! It is easier to use than a brow pencil, which I have prefered in the past, it looks that the brow mascara is the only thing would need, I don't see any major gaps that would need filling. I haven't used this mascara with an eyebrow pencil, I've used it just on its own and I like it. I think the look would get too dark if I used a pencil and then apply this coloured mascara, I prefer a clear brow gel when I'm using a pencil to fill in my brows.
The only thing I don't like is the brush, the ball brush can dispense too much product at once, so I would like to see a regular brush with the mascara, but I guess you can't have everything! It retailed around 7€, which is nice. If you like this type of eyebrow products, I recommed you give it a try! It sure surprised me.

My Everyday Makeup Items + What's In My Mini Makeup Bag :)

I was thinking about doing a makeup collection post, but then I realized I don't have enough light to take good pictures, I think I have to wait for the spring for that. But what I did manage to get pictured was my makeup things I use daily! I keep them in a separate container so that it's easier and faster to pull out the stuff that I need in the morning. I tend to change the items I use quite often, and this is what I'm using on daily basis at the moment AND also wanted to show you what I carry around with me in my mini makeup bag..!

This is what I like to use on everyday basis to create my basic makeup. It has at least one product of each group and then some options to choose from, like two blushes or two highlighters, those being my favourite makeup items to use anyways, so I like to have options in hand.

Let's start with the products I use for my base. I've been using again my Meow Cosmetics mineral foundation and concealer. I've been using two primers, one from Dermosil and on days that I need my makeup to last all day I've been using Urban Decay De-slick In A Tube, which is great stuff if you have oily skin. For under eye concealer I've been using FitMe Concealer from Maybelline and I've been mixing the color that's too dark with the True Match concealer which was a bit too light and yellow for me.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette has been a stable for me since I got it. Benefit Coralista is again in my rotation after beeing neglected for a while. I've been switching it up with the Baked Blush from Elf in Peachy Cheeky, which I didn't like that much, but it's been ok if you don't mind that it's a bit powdery. The Elf Studio Bronzer in St. Lucia is great for my fair skin, I've been using it a lot lately to conceal my paleness a bit :) NYX Taupe is also a stable for contouring.

My Naked Basics had an accident and Crave was smashed, so I had to depot it because it was making a big mess. As you can see my most used colors have been W.O.S. and Venus, I've been using them pretty much everyday. Love this palette!

Too Faced Candlelight can be a litte too glittery for some people to be used on daytime, but not for me, I usually apply it with a heavy hand. My other favourite that gives more glowy and less shimmery look is the Pearl Beige from Everyday Minerals. I've had it for a long time so I don't know if they still sell it. It gives a nice pearly glow with just a tiny amount of product.

For the eyes I use my loved Shu Uemura lash curler, the Rocket from Maybelline, NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil in Black and Lumene's Brow Gel.

I forgot to mention the powder that I'm using at the moment, it's my FitMe Powder from Maybelline in shade 115, I'm trying to use this one up so I can go back using my Nude Magique BB Powder.

I don't have any lip products here because I haven't been using anything else but lip balm and sometimes some lipstick. Boring, yes! I keep the color of the day in my makeup bag. I can't wait for the spring so I can get some new bright lip colors to wear!

Here's my everyday brushes, seems like a lot but I like to have separate brushes for all of the products that I use. I have a miscellaneous collection of different brands, there's quite a few from Coastal Scents, Finnish brands Duroy and Mschic, Make Up Store, and a concealer brush from Everyday Minerals. I apparently left out my kabuki from Ecotools, I use it to apply my mineral foundation.

That's everything! Now let's take a look into my makeup bag :)

I first planned to post a separate post about my makeup bag, but it really isn't that much stuff so here it comes. It's a tiny bag from H&M, I really like the cute lace design.

Not a lot fits into this makeup bag, which is good, because I don't like to carry around a heavy makeup bag. I try to do my makeup in a way that I don't need to reapply anything later on that day, I only usually have to blot and add some powder and add some lip color. Sometimes I carry around a concealer too but not that often.

My powder and my beloved NYX Blotting Papers. These are great and cheap! I don't know why but here in Finland it's quite hard to find blotting paper that is not crazy expensive, I don't like to invest money in it since to me it's only paper, but I don't want to use regular tissues eather.

I also have my kabuki from Ecotools that I carry it around, it's retractable so it's great. I have my favourite organic lip balm from Dermosil and one lip product, today it was Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Tulip Pink.

I carry cotton swabs in case my eye makeup gets smudged and also some hair ties and bobby pins in case I there's a hair problem...

So that is all that I keep in my tiny makeup bag, it's basically all that I need and nothing more, they fit into tiny space and don't weigh much.

This was a long post, I hope you liked it. Thanks for reading!
