Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eyestudio 24h Gel-Cream Eyeshadow in Permanent Taupe! Plus EOTD :)

Finally we have these in Finland! I've been waiting to get my hands on one particular color, and of course it's the Tough as Taupe. Maybelline has changed the names for the market in Europe, I suppose, and it's called Permanent Taupe here. I really don't know why they would do that but anyways, I was super happy to find these! All the other colors looked pretty too but I'm on a budget and could only allow myself to get one of the colors. Surely I got the taupe one because, like many others, I love taupe :)

The jar has a decent amount of product and the product inside sure is super pigmented! It feels super nice and only a little goes a long way. So it'll be hard to use this up, I hope the jar is a quality one and the eye shadow won't start to dry out that soon. For a drugstore price this cream eye shadow has the quality of a high end product. I'm really loving it!

Look how pretty and pigmented! The color is a true taupe, it's a cool brown with a hint of gray in it. You can use it as base with many other colors, not just with the taupe ones.

I'm not used to cream eye shadows, this is one of the few that I own. But I must say that it's very easy to use! It blends out nicely and evenly with my finger or a syntethic brush. I don't know how it works just on its own, I've used it under powdery shadows only. But I'm hoping it works great on it's own too. People have been comparing these with MAC's Paint Pots but I wouldn't know about that since I don't own any Paint Pots. All I know that this stuff is great! I paid around 8€ for it which is a decent price for a product with such high quality.

Here's a taupe smokey eye that I did using the Color Tattoo 24h Gel-Cream Eyeshadow and the Smoky Eyes Quad by Maybelline. I used the the two taupe shadows over the Permanent Taupe and then blended out with MNY's 903A and 149A. I used the 309 as a highlight color. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance under the Color Tattoo but I think it works without a separate primer too. Maybelline Falsies mascara and NYX Peach as a blush to bring a warm hue for the face since the eyes have a cool tone. I wore this as an evening look but I sure could wear it during the daytime too, it's very appropriate and pretty!

Review: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque & Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub!

I'm back with a skin care review! Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask replaced my all time favourite mask from Clinique. Clinique discontinued their Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask, I was so mad because it was the perfect mask for my oily skin. But I got the Mint Julep mask after reading some great reviews. I got it with Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub and I'll review that too :)

Let's start with the mask.Let's just say that this is not for dry skin. But for my oily acne prone skin it's a life saver! It's a clay based mask and therefore it's great for oily skin and it helps to dry out blemishes. It's a thick paste, that dries pretty quickly after I've applied it. Only a light layer will do the job. It deep cleanses my skin and I feel like it really helps with the excess oil issue. My skin feels a bit thight afterwords but I don't mind. It's pretty effective stuff and I love it! But if I had dry skin, I would stay away. The only thing that I don't like about it that the mask is coloured green, maybe just because the name says mint. White mask would have been just fine :)

I love the scrub too! This one also is not for the most sensitive skins, I would say. The exfoliating particles are quite big but to me that's a good thing, it really works and removes all the dead skin and helps out with any dry spots that I may have. Mint Julep Natural Facial scrub has a strong scent, but to me it's ok. All and all a pretty good scrub and I will repurchase definitely!

All and all these products are nice quality and the perfect match for my oily skin. They are super cheap too, and I sure do love a bargain!

Here's the beloved mask from Clinique. Why, oh why, did it get discontinued? Mint Julep Masque is a great replacement but I would go back to this anytime if they would just bring it back because it was scent free and...white :)

NOTD: Rimmel Electric!

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately! I'll try to be a better blogger in the future. And 100 followers make me so happy :)

Here's a quick NOTD post! This time it's a purple polish from Rimmel, I don't know if they sell this anymore, mine is at least 3 years old but still one of my favourites. It's called Electric. It looks too light in these pictures, it's actually much more purple! Two coats was enough with Seche Clear Base Coat and Seche Vite Top Coat. Lasted a few days before it started to chip, the quality is ok. Not very lasting though, like the name would suggest..

Review: NYX HD Photogenic Concealer!

Most of the time I use mineral foundation with a mineral concealer, but sometimes that's not enough to cover up the problem areas of my skin. I have acne scars, some pigmentation spots and really dark circles under my eyes. For those areas I need a really good liquid concealer. I've gone through many, and today I wanted to review a really good one that I've recently found. It's the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer. I got the lightest shade, Porcelene, and it really is light! Great for the fairest complexions.

The concealer has a wand applicator, I find it a bit unhygienic if you apply it straight from the tube on to your skin. I've applied it first on the back of my hand and then used it with a synthetic concealer brush. The consistency is super creamy and soft! It doesn't feel sticky, it feels light and it really delivers. It covers up everything, yet it still feels light! It blends out super easily and just the littlest amount goes a long way. I don't know about the HD thing, I didn't get it to look great in pictures, I got it because I needed a good concealer. For the price, I think I paid $4 for it, it really is amazing. To me it feels like high end stuff and I would pay a lot more for it. The only bad thing is that the tube is quite small, but on the other hand you really don't need much to cover up even large areas.

It blends out nicely and really covers up. I love it.

NYX HD Concealer is my new favourite. My love for NYX seems to continue :)
