NOTD: Holiday nails part 1 :) MNY 265!

Christmas and the Holiday Season are just around the corner and I can't wait! I've been painting my nails red a lot lately! I've been wanting to get some of the China Glaze Holiday Joy collection polishes but haven't caved yet. Cranberry Splash has been on my mind so I wanted to paint my nails with something even close to that.

MNY 265 is a deep cranberry red with pretty multicolor shimmer. It's kind of sheer so I used it over Rimmel's Movie Star polish, which is a warmer shimmery red, just lovely on it's own too but I used it to get more cover. Only one layer of Movie Star and one layer of 265 and the result is super pretty. And I love these 60 Seconds polishes from Rimmel because they last a long time, I wore this mani about a week. Amazing stuff :)

Again, I'm sorry for the poor indoor pictures. I don't like to use flash but days are so dark here right now so I had to use flash. I have a new blush review for you, but I can't take pictures that are good enough.

I'll be posting more holiday nails during November and December:)

NOTD: Weird dark purple/taupe/brown, MNY 549 :)

You know how almost every beauty blogger just loves taupe. And so do I. I love taupe in every form, on my lids and on my nails. I love NYX Powder Blush in Taupe on my cheecks :) I saw this cheap MNY polish on sale, paid only 1€ for it. I'm fond of these MNY polishes because I find them to have pretty great quality for such a low price. I sure do love those two combined!

This 549 looked like dark browb in the bottle but then on my nails it looks purple. It has a purple tone but then again with flash it looks grey. All the pretty taupe tones right there in one bottle! I find it to look weird but then again, I like weird things. I like this polish! The quality is ok, a bit opaque on the first layer but it gets better when you apply more layers. I settled for two coats. Lasted a long time without chipping!

Sorry for the poor pictures, there's not much daylight here at this time of the year. It makes blogging a bit hard..

Review: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream!

It's never too late to jump on the BB cream wagon. BB is all over the place, I don't think I need to tell you the story. This is the real stuff from Asia, it's the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++. It's my first BB cream ever and here's my review on it.

I use mineral foundation most of time and it's perfect for my oily skin, yet sometimes I like to see if the grass is greener on the the other side. Usually it's not. That would be the case this time too, sadly.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream is said to do all kinds of great things for your skin. I got mine to use as a foundation, I don't really care about the other aspects. I like that it has a high SPF, it helps my pale skin to stay pale and wrinkle-free in the future too. How are the abilities as a foundation then?
It's really easy to apply, let's start with that. I apply it with my fingers and it works. This BB cream is quite thick, so a little dab goes a long way. It covers really well! I can skip concealer if I want to, the coverage is really great! It feels a bit heavier than a regular foundation on my skin. I have super oily skin and I must say that this is too moisturising for my skin type. It starts to look messy about after an hour I've put it on, even if I powdered my face. Despite that I still use it some days, it's so easy to apply.

I have the lightest shade #13  which is truly fair, it's a great match for me. I don't really like the scent, it has a slight SPF scent to it too but mainly it smells something like an older lady would like. It doesn't linger on my face though, so I guess it's ok.

If i had normal or dry skin I think I would be madly in love with this cream. I suggest you try it. For me it was not what I expected so I wont't be giving up my mineral foundation just yet. I want to try next the Dr. Jart BB Cream because I hear it's great for oily skin but luckily I've had some trouble with my eBay registration so I can't get my hands on it right now. I'm saving a lot of money :)

Small Rimmel haul + NOTD :)

I sure do love a bargain! I found these lovely Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polishes on sale and hauled four bottles. For 2€ each I think it's a pretty nice deal. I got a purple, a shimmery red, a fuchia and a teal  polish, all so pretty..

From left: Pompous, Movie Star, Fast A Fuchia & Sky High

I got the shade called Pompous, which is a lovely darker purple with blue shimmer. So pretty! Looks so shiny and  just perfect for the season. Two coats was enough with my Seche Clear Base Coat and Rimmel's top coat. And boy these 60 Seconds polishes last a long time! I went almost a whole week with this one and in the end it didn't even look that bad. I'm very pleased :)

I also got a new blush! Since it was only 2€ it was easy to bring home with me. I haven't found any new exciting warm toned blushes lately so this one was really a great addition to my collection. I've been really loving coral and peachy toned blushes for the past year and this light peachy blush called Autumn Catwalk has turned out to be excellent! Nice pigmentation and easy to apply. The darker stripe can look a bit too orangy on me so I try to stay away from it but the first two stripes are just perfect. It looks quite pale in this photo but it's a really nice peachy pink color in reality.

I really don't know why I have nail polish in my hand in the swatch picture. I guess that's normal for a beauty blogger :)

All and all a very successfull haul, thanks for reading!

NOTD: Silver glitter :)

I wanted a silver glitter polish and found a pretty one from Wet n Wild's collection. This Wild Shine polish is called Kaleidoscope, looks so pretty in the bottle...

Kaleidoscope has multicolor glitter but most of it is silvery, it looks lovely in the bottle but to get that look you'd need to layer it a lot. With two coats over Rimmel's Your Majesty the glitter doesn't really show up that much. I think you'd need four our five layers to make it look really glittery. So the polish doesn't have enough glitter in it, I need more, I don't have the patience to do four layers. When I do my nails I want it to be quick and easy, I don't want to wait for layers to dry. I think I have to try it alone or with a different base color. But now I'm a little disappointed. Looks pretty Nice like this though, I think!
