Review: MAC Matte2 Eye Shadow in Blanc Type

Some time ago I hauled this single Matte2 Eye Shadow in Blanc Type from MAC. I have many shimmery nude and highlight colors but I was lacking a really good quality matte eye shadow that matches my skin tone. Then our paths crossed one day at MAC counter. I wanted to have it and maybe 20 seconds later I did.

Blanc Type is a great nude color for me to use as an all over color on my lids. It is very neutral, powdery color. Creamy. Dreamy!

The color pay off is ok, Blanc Type is quite pigmented but not the best I've seen. I have to use quite a lot of product to get full coverage on my lids and this way I will propably hit pan pretty soon. But the consistency is very smooth, not chalky at all so MAC is forgiven.

But the finished result is just amazing! It is definitely matte but it is not heavy looking at all, it is just lovely. Blank type matches my pale skin tone perfectly!
I tried to swatch Blanc Type but it matches too perfectly, the color didn't show up in pictures.

I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base and then apply Blanc Type to my whole lid. I get a perfect canvas for applying other colors or I can use just a black liner and mascara or just mascara. I really like Blank Type, it is the One matte nude color I have been looking for.

I will be getting more matte colors from MAC! And absolutely repurchase Blanc Type when I hit pan. My red lids look normal again :)

Review: Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express mascara!

Maybelline has definitely become my favourite mascara brand. Define-A-Lash Volume has been my favourite for some time now but I always want to try new drugstore mascaras. This time I want to review Maybelline's the Falsies Volum' Express Mascara in waterproof.

I must say I really like this mascara! When it comes to holding my lashes curled all day, the Falsies has no problems in that area. The Falsies is also easy to remove and the best part is that you get a lot af product with reasonable price! Can you ask for more?

The wand is two sided, on the other side it's curvy and flat and full on the other side. I had some trouble on the first time but then I saw the instructions on the tube, you should apply the mascara with the flat side up. At first it didn't make any sense but the results were great!

The finished look is very nice, I think. My lashes seem longer and fuller. You can layer the mascara and then you will get the real falsies look but just one or two light coats give you the perfect, accentuated lashes. And the brush actually gives definition too, I wasn't really expecting it since Falsies has the regular, not a rubbery wand. With the other side of the wand it is really easy to apply the product right at the bases of your lashes.

I like the outcome of Falsies mascara, it gives me volume, length and separation and to be honest, that was not what I expected at all! Such a pleasant surprise and Falsies has now become one of my favourite mascaras!

Review: Milani Baked Blush in Fantastico Mauve

I was a little disappointed with the Berry Amore from Milani, but Fantastico Mauve has saved the day.

Looks just gorgeous and expensive! Fantastico Mauve looks purplely but warm. It's not clearly mauve in the pan, the purple is so dominant. The consistency is soft and just like all the other Baked Blushes from Milani, Fantastico Mauve applies evenly and smoothly. It has golden shimmers that are very finely milled, this one is not that shimmery.

Fantastico Mauve is super pigmented! I have to say that I wasn't expecting this much of pigmentation at all. Dolce Pink was sheer and shimmery, Fantastico Mauve has less shimmers but gives a lot of color with just one sweep. It looks more purple than mauve in the pan but turns out to be just mauve on the skin. The purple disappears and I wish it didn't. I like cool purple colors and they are just perfect for my compexion!

So Fantastico Mauve I do like better than Berry Amore, but it is not perfect. It looks amazing in the pan but then changes color when you apply it on to your cheeks.
But in the end, the outcome is pretty! I can pull off mauve just nicely :)

Review: Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore

I liked Dolce Pink from Milani a lot, so I got myself some more of these Baked Blushes from Milani. Dolce Pink has been THE blush for me this summer.
I ordered Fantastico Mauve and Berry Amore, and now I want to talk about Berry Amore.

Berry Amore is a warm pink color with a berry tone and some baked gold vains. It looks just amazing in the pan! Berry color blushes usually go along well with my pale complexion and look very good and natural with a warm bronzer.

The consistency of Berry Amore is not, I would say, as soft as it is in Dolce Pink. It's a bit more chalky but it applies evenly though. Berry Amore has a bit more pigmentation than Dolce Pink, which is good!

Just look how pretty! But let me tell you...

...on my skin Berry Amore turns into this dirty orangy color! I couldn't believe it when I first applied it on my cheeks! I had to double check if it really was Berry Amore that I just applied, it looked so different in the pan! What can I say, a dirty orange blush is not something I would ever wear. Simple as that. I'm so sad, it looks so good in the pan it's just unbelievable.

Berry Amore could work for many people but not for a pale girl like me who needs some cool tones.

Just look at that. I don't see any berry in this swatch picture...?

Too bad Berry Amore did not turn out to be more on the cool side that I originally hoped for. Nothing like that at all.

Review: Make Up Store Blush in Shimmer Dynasti!

Oh, once again I'm in love. I found Make Up Store's blush in Shimmer Dynasti on sale and it has made my life complete. It's true!

Shimmer Dynasti is a shimmery version of my favourite blush from Make Up Store, the Matt Glory. I think the color is exactly the same, Shimmer Dynasti only has silver shimmers. When I got Matt Glory it was so perfect, sometimes I missed the shimmers though. Well now I got it!

Shimmer Dynasti is so pigmented that even I, the one who doesn't mind the clown effect, have trouble blending it. You have to be very careful with this blush! I think it's even more pigmented than Matt Glory. The consistency is very soft, just perfect. And the staying power is amazing! It will last all day and night on my cheeks.

The shimmers are finely milled and not that visible. Just a nice glow on your cheeks!

The color is the same with Matt Glory (the pictures in the review of Matt Glory are a bit too blue, but the swatch pic is really close to the real color). Shimmer Dynasti is a cool pink with a gentle purple tone. Maybe a bit berryish too? I just love it, it's the perfect color for me! Shimmer Dynasti is at the moment the perfect blush! Loving it!
